Instructions: Conduct the necessary calculations to determine the water quality of the case
study below.
Introduction: You are an APES student at Kearny High School- SCT and have been asked to
do water quality testing of the San Diego River. You go to the river and collect water samples and
bring them back to the lab. During the lab you conduct the tests below and your results are listed.
Using your results, determine the Q-value for each of the tests and multiply by the weighing
factor for each one. Total up the values for the 9 tests to determine your overall water quality
score.

-Based on the data that I have gathered and analyzed the final decision is that this is not good quality water. Overall the water is 57 which is median. I think that it is too risky to have it at median so good will be okay. I determined this way before i got the final results because the numbers seemed very low even though the water might be neutral at 7 that does not mean that everything else is at good quality. If their could be done something about it that would be good just to improve the quality. If this was the water quality at the school i would drink the water but not so often because i wouldnt want to risk it.
